From What Once Was

Autumn! One of my favorite season and it comes with such a nice photopraph.

That the sky is overexposed is no lack but in fact really good and works well in this photo. This way the colours of the leaves come out best and shine with much more intensity. A blue sky would destroy this effect. Too much colours wouldn’t look good, too. I also like it ‘cause it gives the photo an abstract touch.

To see it from standing unter the tree or the branch and with the leaves in the background is nice and not such an ordinary tree/leaf photograph. It makes it interesting to look at. I also like the glow around the leaf, it makes it stand out and this way it doesn’t become blurred with the background and that’s important ‘cause the backgrounds colours are the same.

The only thing I don’t really like is that the focused leaf is in the middle of the photo and too near to the unter border. There’s too much space above the leaf, especially on the left side. I know there’re the leaves in the background but for me it would look better when the leaf were higher and near the left border. I also think you could have played a bit more with the perspective. The leaf is shooted frontal and I think it would also look nice when the perspective were a little different.

Overall you took a really beautiful photo with great colour contrast, just think a bit more about the composition of the photo. Else I only can say: great work! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
